The phenomenal guitar duo of Sergio and Odair Assad bring an all-star lineup of classical and Brazilian guitar wizards to Sanders Theatre for an evening of virtuosic excitement. Celebrity Series audiences will remember Romero Lubambo as the scintillating guitarist whose duo performance with vocalist Luciana Souza lit up Sanders Theatre in 2006. Also joining the Assad Brothers will be their sister, Badi Assad, a vocalist, guitarist and innovative popular music performer in her own right, and the joyful percussionist Celso Machado, a master of ritmos brasilieros.

“The Assads’ playing is so seamlessly integrated that their ensemble passages flowed with the living, vibrant voice of a single instrument.”
