Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin
Saturday, March 12, 2011, 8pm, NEC’s Jordan Hall
One of the great success stories from the resurgence of early music, Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin was created in the early 1980s in East Germany, its creation a display of musical sovereignty amidst an atmosphere of socialist disapproval. It took courage and determination to form Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, and that determination is still on full display in a celebration of precision, energy, and joyous sense of purpose.
