Flashback to our January Alvin Ailey Residency in Boston

Video Production: Kristín Otharsson

With our annual presentation of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater now in full swing, we thought we’d take a moment and look back on some of the fun we had leading up to this year’s performances!

Last January, Alvin Ailey dancers Belen Pereyra, Jeroboam Bozeman, and Solomon Dumas joined us in Boston for our annual Alvin Ailey Boston residency, supported by the Peabody Foundation. Their visit included three movement workshops for students with physical disabilities and special needs at the Kennedy School at Franciscan Children’s, the Cotting School, and the Henderson K-12 Inclusion School, as well as a masterclass with Boston Arts Academy high school dance students. The trio also paid a visit to the Sumner Boys & Girls Club where they joined Neighborhood Arts artist Ryan Edwards for an exciting movement and music improvisation workshop!

View some of the highlights from their visit, including a behind-the-scenes look at Belen Pereyra’s cover shoot for the Improper Bostonian, as well as a backstage tour of the Boch Center Wang Theatre!
