Stream it Live: Leonard Bernstein at 100 Announcement

On Tuesday, May 9, you’re invited to stream the announcement of the worldwide centennial celebration of Leonard Bernstein—the composer, conductor, educator, musician, cultural ambassador, and humanitarian—from Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York. Join Alec Baldwin, Whoopi Goldberg, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, members of the Bernstein Family, and other guests for musical performances and an important announcement about centennial celebration programming around the world.

Leonard Bernstein at 100 is the worldwide celebration of the 100th birthday of Leonard Bernstein and officially kicks off on the artist’s 99th birthday, August 25, 2017. Centennial activities will continue through through his 100th year until August 25, 2019.

Celebrity Series is pleased to take part in the celebration with our 2017-18 Season presentation of What Makes It Great? with Rob Kapilow and Jessica Rivera, The Songs of Leonard Bernstein. On Friday, March 9, 2018, Kapilow will examine the songs of Leonard Bernstein with contemporary works from Broadway of the era. With music from Bernstein’s early production Wonderful Town (1946) to Bernstein’s landmark musical, West Side Story (1957), and a few familiar Broadway favorites of the time, Kapilow and the brilliant young soprano, Jessica Rivera, explore the brilliant songwriting of this American master. Tickets to this performance are currently available as part of a 3-event subscription, and single tickets go on sale Monday, September 11, 2017.

Watch the #BernsteinAt100 live stream below on Tuesday, May 9, starting at Noon ET. You can also visit: LeonardBernstein.com/at100 or the Leonard Bernstein Facebook page.
