Arts for All, Neighborhood Arts

Voci Angelica Makes its Celebrity Series Neighborhood Arts Debut

Thanks to all who joined us on September 30 at Church of the Holy Spirit in Mattapan for our first Neighborhood Arts concert of the season! World music trio, Voci Angelica, made its Celebrity Series debut with its program Common Ground: Songs of Loss, Hope and Prayer.

An international band with members hailing from three continents, Voci Angelica fuses sounds from diverse cultures to create its own arrangements of global folksongs. Audience members who attended this Neighborhood Arts concert were surrounded with the beauty of cello, voices and percussion interwoven into a single tapestry of sound. Watch a clip from the afternoon, featuring the timeless Mexican song, “Cielito Lindo.”

We’re delighted to welcome the trio back to the series on Saturday, March 17, at the South End’s Villa Victoria Center for the Arts! Admission is free. RSVP to attend.

Major support for Neighborhood Arts is provided by Tufts Health Plan and the Barr Foundation, with additional support from the Bessie Pappas Charitable Foundation, the Boston Cultural Council, Amy & Ethan d’Ablemont Burnes, the Fuller Foundation, the Liberty Mutual Foundation, the Royal Little Family Foundation, the Massachusetts Cultural Council, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Stifler Family Foundation, and other generous supporters.
