Since 1995, Boston City Singers has been dedicated to offering creative youth development opportunities to underserved individuals aged 4-18 in their local communities. With a strong commitment to social justice and inclusivity, the organization provides comprehensive music instruction to over 500 young people annually. Through weekly rehearsals, members not only receive music instruction but also benefit from performance opportunities, youth development, cultural exploration, leadership training, and community service. The program fosters diversity, connecting singers of different backgrounds through mentor relationships and teamwork, creating a supportive community. Boston City Singers focuses on teaching a dynamic repertoire from various ages and cultures, emphasizing essential music concepts and skills. By promoting excellence in performance and community engagement, members gain valuable lifelong skills in singing, teamwork, leadership, and artistic expression.

About
Brighter Boston guides teenagers to discover meaningful work and personal success through life-changing professional internships in the event production industry.

They have contributed to Neighborhood Arts programs since 2022, helping with managing equipment, staying on budget, designing, and setting up live event lighting cues, and much more. Over the past two seasons, they have helped with performances as varied as Veronica Robles' all-female mariachi, Hub New Music, Gregory Groover Quartet, and Stringfest programs.

"The Celebrity Series has been an impactful community partner and provided valuable opportunities for Brighter Boston interns to take the lead as Lighting Designers and Electricians! Brighter Boston interns working with Celebrity Series not only make money for themselves and their families while they continue to learn technical skills, but gain increased confidence and work on exciting shows in a variety of performance styles! In addition, partnering with the Celebrity Series has allowed Brighter Boston to grow our pool of professional mentors and provide paid work opportunities and continued engagement to program Alumni and working technicians." - Ann Sousa, Executive Director of Brighter Boston

About
East Boston-based ZUMIX empowers young people to build successful futures, transforming lives and community through music, technology, and creative employment.

Young people from ZUMIX run the live sound and video boards for this fall’s Neighborhood Arts concerts and record the live concert videos. Neighborhood Arts videos that stream on YouTube will still be professionally edited, but, behind the scenes, Celebrity Series concerts will become part of the curriculum at ZUMIX to help students gain important skills in editing and postproduction and create impactful portfolio pieces.

"Last Saturday, it was joyful to witness ZUMIX youth audio engineer, Danilo, dancing around the sound check for Greg Groover's show. He was surrounded by youth videographers from ZUMIX and youth lighting techs from Brighter Boston, amplifying incredible music performed by Greg and his ensemble, including bass player Max Ridley; we learned that Greg and Max have played together since their own high school days at Boston Arts Academy, and in their continued collaboration, they provided a window into a possible future for our youth. There was a shared appreciation for jazz in the space and a supportive pathway for Danilo and his peers to keep experimenting, forming relationships and building a career in music starting on a rainy Saturday with the Celebrity Series." - Brittany Thomas, Director of Creative Media and Technology at ZUMIX
