For Schools and Teachers:

To ensure that Celebrity Series performances reach the widest possible audience, the Celebrity Series developed Take Your Seat to make performance tickets available to Boston public schools and Neighborhood Arts community partners at no charge for select concerts, and at the significantly reduced price of $10 per ticket for others. The program welcomes children in grades K-12 and college students to performances at Symphony Hall, Jordan Hall, Wang Theatre, and other venues. The goal of the program is to break down barriers that limit access to the performing arts, including financial need, physical disability, or other concerns. Take Your Seat makes available over 4,000 free and discounted tickets annually.

Our goals are to:

  • REACH INDIVIDUALS who have not attended a world-class music or dance performance in the past;
  • WORK WITH LOCAL SCHOOLS to make arts enrichment opportunities available to students;
  • PARTNER WITH COMMUNITY GROUPS to promote the performing arts in traditionally underserved neighborhoods of Boston.
