(For Immediate Release—June 29, 2021) Celebrity Series of Boston announces 12 ticketed and free streaming performances in fall of 2021 and early winter of 2022 in a continuation of the “Celebrity Series At Home” digital series. The performances complement the live, in person events presented as part of the 2021/22 season.
Following the success of streaming ticketed and free performances throughout 2020 and 2021, this series of digital concerts enhances the in-person aspect of post-pandemic concert-going. After streaming all performances in the 2020/21 season, Celebrity Series heard from audience members expressing a desire to continue streaming performances to their personal devices even after in person concerts resume.
Artistic Director Amy Lam says, “What started as a fledgling program in March 2020 to keep artists working and our audience engaged became a widely recognized digital series seen by thousands of viewers around the world. We are pleased to be able to continue our digital offerings this fall—now with artists streaming directly from several of our beloved venues in Boston. We are especially proud of our new partnerships where we will be offering intimate settings for a live concert experience and a high-quality digital concert at the same time.”
Ticketed Digital Performances
Leveraging the world-class facilities at GBH and Symphony Hall, and the intimacy of Longy’s Pickman Hall, the seven ticketed concerts bring outstanding artistry into the homes of audience members. They’re a perfect complement to re-watch a performance after attending the live event, or simply watch the concert from home.
The seven ticketed streaming events produced from GBH, Symphony Hall, and Longy’s Pickman Hall are $20 per household ($18 for donors of $100 and above) and remain on-demand for a week following their premiere. Tickets for in person and digital performances go on sale August 24 for performances September 2021-January 2022. The pre-sale ticket period will begin on August 10 for donors of $100 and more. Tickets for performances February-May 2022 go on sale this fall.
