About Devin Ferreira
Devin Ferreira was never your traditional rapper. In fact, he is in a class all by himself as a rapper who plays saxophone. He was born in New Sharon, and spent his childhood years engaged in freestyling, writing, and recording as early as age 6. During his adolescent years, he honed his skills with the rap group, Exodus. He formed a collaboration with an established rap group, Syndicate Crew and recorded in a professional studio at age 15, under the mentorship of lead artist Luchiano. At 18, Devin had recorded multiple albums and toured through the region of Central Maine. This experience was formative for Devin as he would attend UMass–Lowell and graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Business in 2007.
In 2009, he began working with young people in Boston teaching Hip-Hop music production and coordinating performances. Along with earning his M.Ed from Lesley University in 2013, Devin has taught music to 6,000+ youth in the Greater Boston area and received a Berklee Urban Service Award in 2014.
He continues to evolve as a professional rapper & recording artist and took a leap of faith to pursue his music career full–time in December, 2017. Devin has recorded two mixtapes, No Tomorrow Vol. I & II, which were distributed via street marketing to 15,000+ people, while he toured the U.S. Northeast opening for rap icons such as KRS–One and Rakim.
Since 2016, Devin has released two albums, Urban Classic and his most recent, Mustard Seed. Devin has earned commercial songwriting success with the Emmy Nominated New England Patriots song “Full Throttle”. He was featured on WBZ-TV 4 News and he won a New England Emmy Award for creating & recording, “Unstoppable” which is an ode to the Boston Marathon following the bombing in 2013. Devin completed his newest album, Seeds of Greatness while conducting artist residencies for Boston Lyric Opera, Celebrity Series of Boston, and Landmarks Symphony Orchestra.
