Melissa Aldana Quartet
Jazz Festival

Artists For Humanity EpiCenter

Thanks to her lyrical, elegant, powerful playing and her visionary band leadership, Melissa Aldana has been on an amazing upward trajectory in recent years. The Chilean tenor sax player—the first female instrumentalist to win the Thelonious Monk Award--is a co-founder of the supergroup Artemis and is leading her own trio to new heights of refined playing, assured songwriting, and thoughtful self-expression.

Aldana recently made her Blue Note label debut with "12 Stars," prompting AllAboutJazz to rave: "Aldana is an emotionally arresting player who balances vulnerability and victory; her horn at once looses whispery confessions and purposeful statements of strength and resolve."

Come hear one of the leaders of the new generation in jazz in a vibrant, arts-filled pop-up club at Artists For Humanity EpiCenter!
