Stringfest: Borromeo String Quartet
Featuring students from Boston String Academy

Salvation Army Kroc Center

Young musicians from Boston String Academy get an amazing opportunity when the Borromeo String Quartet returns to Celebrity Series to coach and perform alongside them in this Stringfest performance.

The visionary Quartet, called “simply the best” by The Boston Globe, is praised around the world for its interpretations of classic and contemporary works. Long before many other ensembles, the BSQ pioneered the use of multimedia in concert to bring visual arts, design, history, mathematics, and music together.

Committed to education and making music more accessible to all, the BSQ will perform several selections as a quartet, and will partner with young orchestra members for Tchaikovsky's Souvenir de Florence. Don’t miss a very special Stringfest performance: be there and be inspired!

“Each of the greatest string quartets has redefined what the possibilities of the medium are: through the perfection of its ensemble and intonation, through its poise and its passion, the Borromeos are recreating the medium anew and we are lucky to be here to hear it.”
