“A star in the making,” according to The New York Times, and hailed as “the most gifted Chinese soprano of her generation,” by the Ningbo Daily, soprano Ying Fang is cultivating a burgeoning international career on some of the world’s most important opera and concert stages. A former member of the Lindemann Young Artist Program, she has appeared in ten productions at the Metropolitan Opera, most recently her role debut as Servilia in La Clemenza di Tito in 2019. The New York Times praised her performance as "a source of pure joy and light...sung with a soprano of succulent sweetness."
She has appeared in concert with many of the country’s top orchestras, debuting in 2018-19 with the San Francisco and Houston Symphonies, the Cleveland Orchestra, and the BSO under Andris Nelsons in Mahler’s Symphony No. 2, Resurrection. Praised for the purity and agility of her voice and her direct and persuasive acting, Ying Fang’s Boston recital debut promises an intimate evening of riveting artistry.
